Baking Supply Addon for Blender
Welcome to Baking Supply, a small but powerful Blender addon designed to streamline your baking workflow by simplifying the back-and-forth process between Blender and your baking software.
This addon was designed with the use of the Quick Loader feature of Marmoset Toolbag, but can be use with any other baking software.
This addon is released under the GNU General Public License v3.
What’s New in Version 3.0?
This update introduces major improvements and expanded functionality to enhance the baking process.

- Seamless Normal Map Export – Choose between OpenGL and DirectX normal map formats.
- Single-Layer PSD Export – Combine all baked maps into a single PSD file for easier adjustments.
- Path Override Options – Set a custom export path or use the same directory as the exported meshes.
- Direct Baking Option – Automatically start the bake in Marmoset after exporting.
- Improved UI and Error Handling – Enhanced user experience with better tooltips, structured UI, and more informative error messages.

New Features & Improvements
- Pixel Depth Control: Now supports 16-bit per channel baking directly from the UI.
- Custom Bake Presets: Define and load your own presets via addon preferences for a tailored workflow.
- DirectX Normal Map Shading Fix: When using DirectX normals, the green channel automatically flips in the preview material to ensure correct shading.
- Improve of the High <> Low logic: rework of the logic, so now it get any high or low, not matter the upper case, and also inside substring.
- Fix baked texture path: Fixed the texture path to be different form the mesh path when "Use Mesh Path is disable"

File Format & Pixel Depth Validation
- Targa (.tga) format cannot support 16-bit per channel, preventing invalid settings.

Custom Preset Validation
- If a custom preset path is missing, the add-on will prevent incorrect behavior.
- Square texture logic
- Now the setting of the X and Y resolution is a bit more organic, when you switch the res X it switch the res Y, but you can override the res Y.
Update Helper Script
- A built-in script simplifies future updates, allowing for seamless reinstallation without restarting Blender.

Visibility Controls
- Hide/Show Low/High Meshes – Instantly toggle the visibility of low and high meshes.
- Switch Suffix (_high <> low) – Convert between high and _low suffixes.
- Add Suffix (_high / _low) – Automatically append the correct suffix to selected meshes.
- Transfer Names – Copy names from a high object to its corresponding low mesh.
Effortless Exporting
- Export Selected High/Low – Export selected high or low objects as FBX.
- Custom Export Paths – Save files in a specified directory or keep them next to the Blender file.
- Batch Export – Export all baking-ready meshes at once.
Marmoset Integration
- Auto-Load in Marmoset Toolbag – Instantly open exported files in Marmoset Toolbag.
- Pre-configured Baking Setup – Load high and low models, apply bake settings, and configure materials in one click.
- Tarmunds Presets Support – Use pre-configured bake presets for assets or tileable textures.
- OpenGL / DirectX Normal Map Toggle – Automatically adjust normal map orientation.
Flexible Path Management
- Custom Export and Bake Paths – Define paths manually or use the same location for both exports and baked maps.
- Auto-Naming System – Exported files are automatically named based on the appellation.
How to Install
1. Download the Addon: Download the latest stable version of the addon on Gumroad
2. Open Blender: Open Blender and go to Edit > Preferences > Add-ons
.
3. Install the Addon: Click on Install...
, navigate to the downloaded .zip
file, and select it.
4. Activate the Addon: Once installed, find the Baking Supply
addon in the list and check the box to activate it.
5. Access the Panel: You can find the addon panel in the 3D View under the Tarmunds Addons
tab.
How to Update
1. Download the Addon: Download the latest stable version of the addon on Gumroad
2. Open Blender: Open Blender and go to Edit > Preferences > Add-ons
.
3. Uninstall the previous version
4. Close and reopen blender - Unfortunately I implement lately the update script to fix this disagrement
5. Install the Addon: Click on Install...
, navigate to the downloaded .zip
file, and select it.
6. Activate the Addon: Once installed, find the Baking Supply
addon in the list and check the box to activate it.
7. Access the Panel: You can find the addon panel in the 3D View under the Tarmunds Addons
tab.
How to Use
for all the new features check out the videos here :
1. Hide/Show Meshes: Use the Hide/Show buttons to quickly adjust the visibility of high and low meshes for easier navigation and manipulation.
2. Switch Suffix: Select the objects you want to rename and use the High <> Low
button to toggle between _high
and _low
suffixes.
3. Add Suffix: Select the objects and use the Add high
or Add low
buttons to add the respective suffix to the selected meshes.
4. Transfer Names: Select a _high
object as the active object, along with other target objects, and use the Transfer Name
button to give them consistent _low
names.
5. Exporting Meshes: Enter a name in the panel, then use the export buttons to save all visible high or low meshes. Specify a custom path if needed. After the export. This is super useful when you're itering with the lowpoly to go back and forth with Marmoset.
